My lab notes for this particular comic:
Half of Mike's face appeared in a previous comic, but this is his first speaking role in this comic. I'm not sure why that sort of thing happens, it's not the first interesting thing he's said by any means. If I could communicate his Tommy Wiseau impression in comic form then maybe he'd have had a better shot. Writing about video games is another thing though, everyone has relatable access to that shit!
Unfortunately I haven't had a lot of direct access to any gaming consoles now-a-days. You might remember the last one I had any direct contact with was a Nintendo 64, and if you remember that you might also recall its inevitable disappearance. And although I still have my original X-Box, the condition of that that box might also ring a bell.
So there, you should be completely up to speed as to why I suck at games recently, unless you're talking about iPhone games that is, I will ruin you at Tiny Tower. Does that count by the way? Are mobile games hardcore yet? I hope so, because there's no way I'm going to be affording a current gen system at the rate my income is going. Fingers crossed for the next yard sale I visit though, I wouldn't mind going through "Link to the Past" again. Emphasis on the "past".
