Description

A comic from my journal comic series "The Secret Life of a Journal Comic". You can read more at my main site at www.journalcomic.com

And now for it's original notes...

I really wish there was a way that I could keep my brain in that mode where the important things I have to do don't feel as important as I actually think they are. Does that sound as non-sensical as I thought? Okay, just making sure.

Hopefully I'll find a more permanent solution to this problem one day. If not, well, it's not like I'm unable to get work done, it just becomes more difficult than it should if it's something that I actually care about. Maybe I should just stop caring about everything. But there's already a lot of stuff that I don't care about, I don't know that my persona could take any more apathy.

Whatever, it doesn't really matter.

I see allot of mental defenses here like repression and denial somewhat. But that's normal because with out those mechanisms we all would have constant mental breakdowns when dealing with disturbing things.

It just sounds like you're not loose enough, and feeling loose while doing important works is a priority. Ironically that's an important soldier trait, staying calm in stressful combat situations. Because when people loose their calm and panic or get frustrated, that's when bad things start to happen like loss in team moral, personal confidence, and motivation. We don't have to be on a real battlefield to see this. Just play any video game that requires some teamwork like MMOs or shooters. I see stuff like this all the time there. When missions/quest go wrong or PvP get's dicey, most civilian type people just loose it and tell their teammates or friendlies they're all idiots. It's a fatal no-no in a real battle situation, but comical in video games. LOL

The point is that it's a good idea to find something that keeps you calm while working on important works or things that matter to you. What keeps me calm and focus is playing music, have MST3K on, or a movie on while I work.
